Fermentation Reimagined: How We Redefined Ethiopian Coffee Processing

In 2017, we became the first producer in Ethiopia to introduce Carbonic Maceration coffee. But we didn't stop there. Instead of importing foreign techniques, we adapted methods like Anaerobic Fermentation, full-spectrum honey processes, and our proprietary "Supernatural" method specifically to fit Ethiopian cherries, our native microclimates, and local farming practices.

The Supernatural process was born right here at our washing stations. We stack ripe cherries thick on raised beds to intensify natural fermentation, turning them hourly for 6 to 12 days before finishing them slowly under shade. The result in your cup is intensely fruit-forward, vibrant, and unmistakably Ethiopian

The Auction's Purpose, Investing Back in Origin

For Primrose, the auction is not a sales event. It's a growth engine for Ethiopian specialty coffee.

Premium Lots.
Purposeful Impact.

Exceptional Coffee Built on Equity

Primrose has spent 15 years building something rare in Ethiopian coffee: a vertically integrated network that pays farmers fairly, pre-finances their harvests, shares profits through second payments, and invests in community infrastructure: water wells, school electricity, employment for 170 people.

This auction accelerates that mission. Premium prices for specialty microlots mean more resources flowing back to the farmers who grow them. Every bid supports a model that proves Ethiopian coffee can be both exceptional and equitable.
